nobody ever asks what he thinks. usually, people don’t even want to know. because exposing
yourself to a bleak, violent darkness like his leaves can leave a lasting impression that most
people aren’t ready too be saddled with. but his is a complicated void. john’s moral system
is one of his own making, & he doesn’t expect others to understand it. he doesn’t care
for them to.
that said, he does see something familiar there when he looks into her eyes.
but it’s when she asks what he thinks about having been betrayed that he
begins to suspect that she finds the prospect of playing with fire thrilling.
but that’s just his opinion, which he’ll keep to himself.
he’ll share another, though.
“i’m thinking someone needs to die.”
Due to prior obligations today, I won’t be present here on tumblr until later on tonight. Expect more starters to be dotted out through tonight and tomorrow!
Contrary to what many believe, the tattoo on his back is NOT one of the slogans for the Marines. In the tattoo on John’s back, Fortuna refers to the Goddess of Luck, with the whole phrase essentially meaning “It is only the strong that Fortune (the goddess) comes to save”
This understanding has come from here and it’s convincing enough for me to adopt it as canon for my blog, honestly. Thanks, people that know Latin!
